Course Description

The aim of this course is to introduce and to describe global financial markets and institutions, with a focus on globalization, deregulation and consolidation, and technology. This course highlights the continuous and complex transformation of the financial services industry and provides a comprehensive description of major players and activities in global capital markets.  This course olaso focuses on international financial markets and exchange rates. Topics include pricing in the foreign currency and Eurocurrency markets, use of forward exchange for hedging, short-term returns and market efficiency in the international money markets, foreign currency options, international capital asset pricing, pricing of foreign currency bonds, currency swaps, and capital market risk. Capital market and economics crisis in several countries will be discussed in this course.
